Essence Beauty Box

These days there are TONS of specialty boxes out there and it can be really hard to choose from or even decide if it's really worth spending $20 a month for just a few trial sized products.   Being that I'm the type of woman who likes to be sure of certain products before actually purchasing, I really love the idea of a beauty box.  Beauty boxes are amazing.  You get to try anywhere from 3-5 sometimes full sized products all in one whop.  You don't need to drive.  It comes right to your door step every month.  Plus you get a chance to see what's out there.  You know..come out of your "It works for me and this is all I'm going to ever buy" comfort zone and get in the KNOW of some really nice cosmetics.  Companies are stepping it up even more now and providing consumers with more than a few products that are enough to give you a lasting impression.

I recently got my hands on the

Essence Beauty Box

and although I'm super picky about certain products I use, I was very impressed.  What I love about the Essence Beauty Box is that it's literally tailored to fit a woman of color's shades and skin tones.  Beauty experts identify what works best and provide you with the best products that give you the opportunity to test out!  I also love that they stand by beauty entrepreneurship in our community by featuring a product from a black owned business in each box.  It gets no better than that!  I love supporting black owned businesses.  Yes Ma'am.

I'm showing you a combination of both the November and December 2015 boxes.  Here's what I got:

Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Body Lotion

- Perfect hand lotion to keep in my bag!

Fekkai Hair Fragrance Mist

- Oh my.. I've been using this product all wrong..LOL.  I thought it was for the body and not the hair.  Opps!  I've never used a fragrance mist for my hair and--not gonna lie a little afraid to..but I just might.  Otherwise I'll keep using it as a regular body mist..don't tell nobody..hehe.

Black Opal Color Splurge Luxe Matte Lipstick

-  Haven't used this yet, but I love the color so far!

SmashBox Full Exposure Mascara

-  I'm slowly becoming a smashbox fan.  I've got some of this brands other products but THIS..I love how my lashes look longer and more separated!

DevaCurl No-Poo & One Condition Decadence

-  Haven't used these yet but my hair loved DevaCurl back in my early natural hair days.

Carol's Daughter Sacred Tiare Coming Creme

- I can't wait to use this one because I've heard really great reviews on it.  I'm obsessed with fragrance and I'm loving the smell already!

Other Products:

Vera Moore Eyeshadow

OGX Biotin & Collagen Conditioner

CoverGirl Outlast Longwear Lipstick

Boots Extracts Body Wash

BONUS GIFT:  Egyptian Magic Cream

- A multitasking beauty product that does everything from repairing dry skin, to taming hair frizz, to hydrating chapped lips.

All this for $15 a month isn't too bad.  My tips for deciding whether you should subscribe to a subscription box is to first ask yourself if you are into beauty products and are interested in trying out new products.  If the answer is yes, think about how much you would spend on 2 or 3 full sized products that you may or may not even like.  At least with a subscription box you aren't wasting too much product or cash..then go from there.
