THE START OF A NEW DECADE

2019 ended beautifully for me. The last 4 months of the year were spent planning travel for international and domestic vacations with my husband and family. As much as I love ‘Styled Chic’ and sharing with photos via social media, I really wanted to live in the moment and savor my travel experiences. Blogging was the last thing on my mind. I selfishly basked in the time that my husband and I had together and even reserved a lot of the photos I took from my trips without posting a good number of them online. I appreciated every moment and every day that I spent in each new city, which surprisingly, made me super protective of those special times. If you do happen to follow me on IG then you were able to see parts of my adventures while abroad.

As you can see from my leading photo, I traveled to Paris, France! It was my first trip outside of the country and pretty much a dream come true. My husband and I were in Europe for just a little over a week and split our time evenly between France and Italy! I’m still pretty much in aw of life outside of the United States. Observing another country’s way of life deepened the desire that I have to take on the attitude of living in peace and being stress-free. My husband and I even entertained the idea of retiring in Italy ☺️. I’m still debating on whether I want to share a post dedicated to my traveling experience in Europe. I’ll keep you all posted.

If you’ve managed to stick with me through my long hiatus…THANK YOU! To all of you who not only have been with me since the beginning, but always find a way to comment, like, and support what I’m doing... It means a lot. Especially recently since my writing and sharing on this platform has slowed down.

The past 10 years took me on a journey filled with new adventures, sweet memories and a season of rock bottom lows all to the destination and discovery of the woman I’ve always aspired to be. Although my work is not yet complete, I wake up most days at peace and happy with who I am and who I see staring back at me. That’s reason enough to smile and be proud! 2019 was an incredible year! One of accomplishments, abundance, traveling the world with my love and seeing so many of the things I prayed and worked for come to fruition. I’m truly grateful because there was a time when I couldn’t say that—so I say CHEERS to the best one yet🥂

⁣I’ve intentionally started this year off just enjoying myself and with my ‘hands off of the wheel’ with no big list of ‘GOALS’ to check off. Every year for the last 5 years, I had career goals, life goals, and a whole slew of things I wanted ‘To Do’. This year’s approach is so much different. I’m pretty much just free and open to what God has for me and am simply trusting him in the process. I feel like I did a lot of work last year career-wise by ultimately receiving a job offer and acceptance from a phenomenal state agency. In the health and fitness department, I was the most active I’ve ever been in years which was another highlight of 2019. Lastly, I spent more time offline. More time being present in the moments I spent with my family and also in my alone time.
