A lot of you guys saw my post of last Sunday night’s dinner on IG stories and wanted to know my ramen receipe! I love ramen and find it to be just one of those meals that is perfect to have on a cold and rainy day! You can add different toppings and different kinds of meat such as shrimp or beef—no matter which ever variation— it’s just always SO GOOD. This receipe is simple but will definitely have you feeling like your dining in a restaurant.
I have to admit, shopping just hasn’t been a priority for me these days. Now don’t get me wrong, I will add to my closet when necessary ( i.e. travel or special events), but lately I’ve been relying heavily on what I already own in my wardrobe. I currently have a few financial goals that I am trying to work towards. With that, I find myself being a little more strategic about what kind of clothes I spend my money on.
I’ve been doing a lot more reading lately and have been focusing on really diversifying my book collection. My interests normally range from spiritual, to motivational, finance, career, health, and a few others. However, after doing some early spring cleaning recently, I realized how much I desire to expand my stacks to books by women of color. Celebrating the talent and legacy of black women writers is something to be done this month and throughout the year. Feeling inspired, I chose to pick up a few new reads that I would love to share with you!
It’s the top of the year and work has been keeping me pretty busy all month. So busy that at the end of each day, I focus more on decompressing when I get home. That includes preparing and eating healthy dinners, organizing for the next day and reading before bed. I’ve had a few holidays throughout this month to keep me balanced, however, making the extra time after work to maintain a clear headspace has been imperative to not bringing home any work related stress.
For our stay in Chicago, The Blackstone Hotel was the perfect choice! It's located on Chicago's Cultural Mile and right down the street from Millennium Park and Lake Michigan. This hotel is known as the “Hotel of Presidents” and has hosted US presidents, foreign dignitaries, political and mob exchanges, actors and more!
Last month, in early December, Will and I celebrated 5 years of marriage together. We talked about how we wanted to do something really special and decided we would travel to Chicago to celebrate! We have always been curious about this major city in the Midwest + there were so many festive things to do during the month of December for the holidays. We figured it would be super romantic to spend the weekend in the cold windy city!
