How to Make a Smoothie Bowl

It's an absolute MUST for me to have breakfast every morning or I will just be no good to anyone.  Let's be honest here though, because you all know how it is.  The morning rush.  I told you guys, I'm trying to get better.  Although I have had more discipline to manage my morning time, we all need something quick and easy on those weekday mornings.  Or how about quick, easy, and healthy? Yes!

Since I like to for the most part eat really clean, with a few exceptions at times, I always like to start my mornings off eating fresh!  This way I get my energy up, I'm able to focus, and just take on my day.  So how many of you all have noticed this new healthy food trend that is like everywhere?  Since I love smoothies anyway, I thought making this bowl would be an great option!

Making a smoothie bowl is pretty much the same as making a regular smoothie.  All you are doing is adding your fruit toppings.  You can add anything you love on top.  I stuck with yummy bananas, kiwi, and strawberries!

Step 1:  Create Your Smoothie

You want a nice consistency, one that isn't too thin.  We aren't drinking this through a straw, so you want to thicken it up a bit.  Here are the ingredients I used:

1 Banana

1.5 Cup of Frozen Berries (Raspberries & Blueberries)- I used the Wild Oats Berry Medley brand I  picked up from Walmart.

1.5 Cup of Greek Yogurt- I used Stony Field Greek Vanilla Flavored

.5 Cup of Vanilla flavored Almond Milk

You can also add a bit of protein powder to the mix as well.  Adding this keeps me full for a few hours.

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until your mixture has a smooth thick consistency.  Pour into a bowl.

Step 2:  Add Your Toppings

Have some fun with your toppings.  I added Strawberry, Kiwi, and Banana to mine.  You can also add some granola as well.  I like a good crunch!  So delicious and colorful!  Voila!   Your all set and ready to take on your day!

Have you tried to make a smoothie bowl?  I'd love to hear of some of your mixtures and toppings!  Leave me more ideas and receipes below!
